Project activities Information

Our five-day training programme for businesses on "Protection & Skills development for Young Workers, Prevention & Remediation of Child Labour" in Ha Noi has come to an end. Let's have a quick look at some of the highlights of this meaningful activity!

The training programme is co-organised by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and UNICEF Viet Nam, in collaboration with their knowledge partner - The Centre for Child Rights and Business (The Centre). This is a completely free activity, within the framework of the project on Promoting Children's Rights and Business Principles for enterprises in Viet Nam (CRBP project, period 2022-2026).

Participants found this training to be extremely useful for their work, and would like to see the programme to be continued and scaled up with more in-depth contents and attracting more companies to join in the future.

In the training, besides sharings from our guest speakers who are experts in the fields of children's rights and corporate social responsibility, participants coming from eight companies (mostly Apparel and Footwear suppliers) were actively engaged in the group discussion on topics such as child labour remediation, relevant legal regulations, internal training skills and training for young workers and business planning. They also shared their own workplace practice and learn from good practices in Viet Nam and in the world.

The training programme were organised to strengthen the knowledge, capacity and commitment of enterprises with high impact on children and focus on the following 3 topics:
Topic 1: Child Labour Prevention and Remediation
Topic 2: Young Worker Protection

Topic 3: Skill Development for Young Workers

Participants joining the training all had to develop their own action plan afterwards. Participants were all provided with Certificates after fully participating in the training programme.
