Promoting Children's Rights helps build a strong, knowledgeable community and this promotion is an essential element to create an effective, adaptive and stable business environment. Respectation, implementation and protection of children’s rights are the responsibility of not only businesses but also the other related stakeholders.  For businesses, the respect and support to children’s rights bring many benefits such as building good reputation of companies, strengthening the relationship between businesses and employees, thereby increasing their commitment and mostly retaining employees to work at company beyond Covid-19 pandemic.  Most companies are facing a shortage of unskilled workers, for they often want to reshape their lives, to have a comfortable working environment with less overtime shifts and higher salaries compared to what they get from the footwear and apparel industry.

On 1 July, the Project on Promotion of Children’s Rights and Business Principles (CRBP) among Enterprises in Vietnam in collaboration with the Vietnam Business Council for Sustainable Development (VBCSD) co-organized a training program titled “Transparent and effective corporate governance: Role of Corporate Sustainability Index (CSI) and Culture of Diversity and Inclusion in businesses” for enterprises in Ho Chi Minh City. On behalf of UNCIEF Vietnam, at the training course, Ms. Doan Thuy Dung, Social Policy officer introduced Children’s Rights and 10 Business Principles to be implemented and respected. This is the second consecutive year that children's rights have been included in the CSI. The ranking of the top 100 sustainable companies is expected to be announced in December 2022, and the companies with good practices will be acknowledged and applauded then.
